AQo, what the hell is going on?
Table is fantastic considering it's bonus clearing season. I don't have specific reads, but the table has been pretty loose and can randomly become aggressive when no one actually has a hand.
This entire hand felt awkward. Do I fold this flop? How about my turn raise? Do I go nuts on the river? UTG+1 went all in on the river, which is why he mysteriously disappears from the action. The river action looks ridiculously confusing because he was just trying to get all in while I'd raise at every opportunity and UTG+2 was just calling. Fold the flop. Call the turn.

Re: AQo, what the hell is going on?
It looks good to me. I'm not totally positive on the turn raise, but the nut flush draw + second pair is a strong holding. 3-betting yourself on the river is a very nice touch

Re: AQo, what the hell is going on?
I'm not sure why you raised the turn. You called the flop, presumably because he has a king, yet you raise the turn when you hit a queen? I'd call the flop, call the turn, because you hit your best possible card, a pair card and a flush draw card.
Calling the turn is good because you really want a showdown that is as cheap as possible on the river UI and expensive as possible if you have the nuts |

Re: AQo, what the hell is going on?
flop call is no g00t. turn raise is good if you are checking the river through UI. Nice river play.

Re: AQo, what the hell is going on?
The flop call is pretty skimpy.
I don't really like the turn raise either. I think you're most likely drawing, and getting raised sucks. The river raise and subsequent self 3-bet is always a strong play. (Next time you might consider check-raising yourself. I love/hate it when I'm able to pull that one off.) |

$5 to the first person to successfully trifecta themselves.

Re: AQo, what the hell is going on?
I don't raise the turn in this case. I'd put UTG+2 on a K, so you have 12 outs to make your hand by the river, and you want to encourage people to stay in this pot. I can't really tell what happened on the river. Looks like the converter messed it up.

Thanks for the feedback, guys. UTG+1 raised all-in on the river at some point, allowing me to 3-bet myself according to the converter. For what it's worth, I held my mouse over the fold button on the flop for a solid 15 seconds before making the call. I understand that at an "average" table (whatever that means), this call is incorrect. I had a vague read on the guy as being capable of making irrational bets. He was betting ace high no kicker on the flop and MHIG.

Re: AQo, what the hell is going on?
Flop: 4.5 outs getting 8.5:1. With a tiny amount of implied odds, this is a call.
Turn: If you're hoping for a cheap showdown, raising may just get you an expensive 3-bet showdown. I think calling is the way to go here. River: umm.. not sure what is going on here. Did UTG+1 bet and you raised him all in? Either way, you hit two pair, so just keep raising. |
