Prague Casinos - anyone here/know?
Hi there,
I'm away with family and have found just one spread - 100/200 (and 200/400 on weekends) limit [that's $5/$10 and $10/$20]. One table each night, 2 on weekends. This casino is on "28 rijna", the road running perpendicular at the top of wenceslas square. Questions: 1) Any 2+2ers on holiday in prague want to meet up and try the 100/200? I don't want to take $1000 on my own into a casino, since another casino had a "no handguns" sign. 2) any other 2+2ers recommend any other casinos in prague? (search yielded nothing posted in the last year!) PM me or reply here! Thanks in advance, Pete Harris |

Re: Prague Casinos - anyone here/know?
Sounds like you found this one?
Golden Prauge Looking at the Pokerin europe site it is the only one there. This was a post from the mob forum by Sheriff Fatman is a year old but might help. "I played in Prague in March. The best place I found was Banco Casino (if I remember correctly) which is just off Wenceslas Square near TGI Fridays. There were 2 games going in the room at the time I was there, both low limit €1/2 and €2/4 (although the 2/4 game soon switched to Pot Limit). The game is just getting going over there and there's a schedule of tournaments taking place at Banco Casino at the end of July. I think they go under the name 'Prague Poker Club' and there's a website somewhere. The other casino advertising poker (can't remember the name but its a big one on Wenceslas Square) didn't have any games going when I visited. Sorry if its a bit vague but its as much as I can remember." |

Re: Prague Casinos - anyone here/know?
Thanks for that davey! it is the golden prague. Banco Casino has discovered the delights of 3-card poker against the house, so no more player vs player poker.
I have got a message from another user about the 100/200 [$5/$10] game and we hopefully will meet up and play this weekend. Woo-hoo! Thanks again, Pete Harris |

The games start after 8pm and the players are lacking but from my understanding this is the only place to play hold em in Prague. The guy who runs the poker room there (name escaped me) is awesome. He is really putting up a nice spread there trying to drum up interest in the game. The game was loose to say the least. I never play limit but got dealt QQ three times, AA, AK and I never won because everyone would call and outdraw me... It is right next to TGIF in the main square, if you look up there is even a giant sign that says "texas hold em"... |

Re: Prague Casinos - anyone here/know?
Peter, I know it's not Prague, but I am in Vienna right now. So if you ever make your way down here in the next while, send me a PM. There are a couple decent rooms here, and my regular €3/€6 game is pretty nice. Normally 1 or 2 rocks, 1 or 2 LAGS, 1 decent player and the rest a mix of tight passives...quite nice. I just got to get over the language barrier so I know what they are saying!
