terminal FPS-case turns flush...but river double-pairs the board.
not sure if this hand might be interesting to anyone; turn and river are certainly debatable.

This is fine, what FPS? I fold the river unless he has a note though.

Fancy Play Syndrome.
Is it really fine? 3rd [img]/images/graemlins/diamond.gif[/img] on the turn, if i bet out & Villain believes i've got my flush & he holds a Q or a 2, he's getting 4.5:1 on a 5 to 6-outer to beat me... or he gets check-raised (like i did) and we're both committed to the river... |

He knows what it means - he's asking you where you think you exhibited it in the hand...
Do you really think he's folding either a Q or a 2 to a turn bet? I bet the flop here. |

[/ QUOTE ] i think if he's thinking about his river odds he's more likely to fold if i bet out than if he's check-raised. also keeps him from checking behind if he's passive. [ QUOTE ] I bet the flop here. [/ QUOTE ] hmm...seems to be the consensus...especially in this case, now that i think about it, i definitely need to consider that. |

Re: terminal FPS-case turns flush...but river double-pairs the board.
I've noticed that there are a decent number of players who would bet A [img]/images/graemlins/diamond.gif[/img] and a non-diamond like this, first betting the flop to try and steal after everyone checked, then betting again on the turn with the nut flush draw and a chance to take down the pot, then bluffing to represent the full house against what might be a flush. Of course, this player might also have a queen or a medium pocket pair.
I would actually consider semibluff check-raising the flop, depending on my reads of the other players at the table. I have a strong feeling that MP1 won't have any hand that contains a 2 and may even be bluffing, so you may take down the pot right there. |
