15-30 Party Games
Are the 15-30 games on Party still the "promised land" that
people used to claim they were? Or have they tightend up over the last year or so? If they have tightened up how beatable are they? Can a player who can beat the 3-6 games be confident that they can beat the 15-30 games? Is there a huge gap in playing ability in those 2 levels? I know they are much more aggresive but any other glaring differences? Assume a player is more than adequately bankrolled for the 15-30 games, and the same player has a decent BB/100 hand winrate at the 3-6 levels, and also assume that they can emotionally deal with the swings at the 15-30 level. Can this player beat the 15-30 games? Should this player skip the 5-10 and 10-20 levels? |

They should play 6 max first. |

HIJACKING!!!
How anout the difference between 10/20 sh and 15/30? Is it big? Is there any difference in amount of skill required? Also as an answer to the original thread. I tried to do the move two months ago. Pretty bad idea. Better to learn short handed play. The game between 3/6 and 15/30 is extremly different. |

Re: 15-30 Party Games
I've played limits ranging from .50/1 to 15/30 on party, and I've played live games up to 30/60 in vegas, LA, and San Jose.
That said, the party 15/30 is the toughest of all of these. Not saying that it requires world class skills (or even close to it) to beat, just that it is harder than most other games at this level. FWIW I wouldn't be surprised if it is the easiest of all the onlien 15/30 games. |

Re: 15-30 Party Games
FWIW, I can't answer your questions about if you can beat the 15/30 game (because I'm not even sure I can yet at 9000 hands), but I can give you some insight into the differences because I just started playing the 15/30 straight from playing 3/6. I have about 30K winning hands at 5/10 6max, so I have done a little of the shorthanded thing. I have not played 10/20 6max much at all, maybe 200 hands. I was beating the 3/6 game for over 3BB/100 for over 100K hands, so I thought I would take a shot.
Truthfully, the 15/30 games are LOOSER than the 3/6 games, which suprised me. There are more LAGs who will cold call 2 or even 3 bets preflop with just about whatever, but the huge difference is most of these LAGs play very well postflop. The usual avg. VPIP at my 3-6 tables was in the low 20s%, and the usual avg. VPIP at 15-30 seems to hover above 25% with games above 30% easily found. The aggression is HUGE at 15-30, and I have definitely had to adjust some of my starting hand requirements. It is not uncommon to have 3-4 way pots capped preflop, and you will be suprised to see what hands will win some of these 4 way capped pots. i.e. Last night 56off called 3 bets cold after limping UTG with 56off to win a huge pot. Also post flop, stealing the pot is much, much harder than 3/6 because there is a considerable amount of restealing, bluff raising, etc. With only 9000 hands so far I am posting a very slight win of less than 1BB/100, but with such a small sample size I can't say if I will be a winner here or not. If I am not, I have no problem dropping back down especially since this is just for fun as I have a good full time job. Good luck if you decide to try it and make sure you are well bankrolled. |

At 3/6 I was almost always the best player at the table. At 15/30, there are usually at least 2 or 3 players at a table that are better than me. |
