Default isolating a maniac but TAG SB won\'t let me

UTG ia a maniac 86/18
SB is a decent player.

Party Poker 1/2 Hold'em (9 handed) converter

Preflop: Hero is UTG+1 with A[img]/images/graemlins/club.gif[/img], 9[img]/images/graemlins/spade.gif[/img].
UTG calls, <font color="#CC3333">Hero raises</font>, MP1 folds, MP2 folds, MP3 folds, CO folds, Button folds, <font color="#CC3333">SB 3-bets</font>, BB folds, UTG calls, Hero calls.

Flop: (10 SB) 8[img]/images/graemlins/heart.gif[/img], 9[img]/images/graemlins/club.gif[/img], 8[img]/images/graemlins/club.gif[/img] <font color="#0000FF">(3 players)</font>
<font color="#CC3333">SB bets</font>, UTG calls, <font color="#CC3333">Hero raises</font>, <font color="#CC3333">SB 3-bets</font>, UTG calls $0.54 (All-In), Hero calls.

Turn: (8.77 BB) A[img]/images/graemlins/heart.gif[/img] <font color="#0000FF">(3 players, 1 all-in)</font>
<font color="#CC3333">SB bets</font>, <font color="#CC3333">Hero raises</font>, SB folds.

River: (11.77 BB) 9[img]/images/graemlins/heart.gif[/img] <font color="#0000FF">(2 players, 1 all-in)</font>

Final Pot: 11.77 BB

Comments? Of course the PF raise was to isolate the maniac. But then SB TAG had to interfere

yuck.. *WAY* too far off the button to start isolating with a weak hand like this.. also, since you are not 3-betting, it will be even less successful.

i don't think i like the turn raise.. but i may be biased since he folded his broadway PP. calling the turn and raising the river seems better.

edit: i mean to raise all rivers, not just improvement to a boat...

I like this play better if LAG had raised PF and you had 3-bet. From UTG+1 I think your chances of isolating just by raising are not good, and A9o isn't a value raise if you get called.

the turn raise is awesome, what is hero losing to other than AA?

Interesting line... I would have auto-raised the turn here I'm sure. I like it!

i agree. he's likely way ahead.. but villian can release his hand pretty easily to this raise. if you pop him on the river, he's much closer to showdown and may be worried about a river bluff.

oh, i will edit and clarify.. the river card changed nothing. i'm calling the turn with the intent to raise any river..

An x8, 88, or A8. But I certainly don't give credit to SB (a decent player, according to the read) for having any of these hands after his pf 3-bet from out-of-position. I too think it's a good raise.
