why not raise the flop? [/ QUOTE ] This is a way-ahead-or-way-behind situation. If I raise the flop and the flop better has an 8, I'm either gonna get 3-bet or checkraised on the turn. If he's got a weaker Ace he'll probably call down and also has a bunch of outs to the split. If he has a hand weaker than a pair of Aces, he'll fold to the flop raise. My plan was to call down or bet if checked to. The runner-runner flush was a bonus. |
