Default Caesar\'s In sent me a reply today.

I got mad and walked out of Caesar's In about a month ago and sent a letter to the management here locally and also to the head office in Las Vegas. I received a letter from the local office today expressing concern about the treat ment I received and they would counsel the parties in question about their treatment of the poker players.

He said He would do his best to see that his folks demonstrate proper restraint and meet my future expectations.

I think I'll write back saying thanks but no thanks and tell him I drive an hour and a half further to play at his competition's establishment.

Instead of saying "no way f-off", why not try to milk him and say something like "I'm glad you're sorry about what happened, but it will take more than words to make me regain enough respect for Ceasars to spend my recreational money there..." etc. Might be able to swing some free meals or hotel stay in vegas or something out of the deal.

Gotta play hard to get, but I wouldn't close the door from the beginning.

Just an idea,
KoW

That's part of the reason I will tell him about playing at the competition.

I haven't been happy with Caesar's anyway so I don't really care if I return. I'm pretty sure Caesar' in Vegas does not have a poker room.

I'm curious about what the deal with this was as well.

FWIW - You stand a far better chance of getting something if you are more polite about it then saying "F-you...I'll just play somewhere else."
It's not too much of a stretch to say "I still feel my treatment was unsatisfactory and would appreciate further assurances this will not happen again.
I am a frequent poker-player at a few different rooms and I consider myself to be the type of customer a poker-room would WANT to have at their tables.
I am strongly considering taking my business up the road unless I am further convinced that this was a one-time only incident."

Something like that anyway.

(I am presuming you are referring to the new room at the Grand Vic when you speak of taking your business 'up the road').

Default Just as I predicted.

I told you if you complained to management, the floor would get their ass chewed. You got the results you wanted, what are you crying about? You realize the floor knows who they were talking about, since they probably remember the incident. From now on you are probably untouchable, and will be treated with extra respect.

I was polite but very direct.

Yes, I am really starting to like the poker room at the Grand Victoria. The new is wearing off and the dealers are getting better. I played last night, got there late so the wait was long but but I won 10 big bets per hour, playing 5-10 which is unsustainable but nice when it happens.

casinos are weird about how they dish out "sorry" comps. At Chumash in central cal me and a friend each got a like $18 free buffet coupon because they stopped giving out free decks of cards and we complained....

but in san diego at sycuan i waited an hour and a half at 2AM on christmas eve to get my car out of the valet and all i got was an apology letter.

go figure.

I got an apology letter and a promise to fix the problem. I wasn't after comps because I plan to play elsewhere so it doesn't matter that no comps came with the letter.

If they had comped me something I would have felt obligated to return.
