Sorry. He had J10, just about the only hand I could have bet into and been paid off with.

An interesting line. I have to admit I get a little bit queezy about slowplaying AA, but heads up early on is probably the time to try it, if ever. Nice play.
Just wondering, if a brick had hit the river, would you have raised him? How much? If not all-in, would you have laid it down if he re-raised all-in? |

SS, I agree with you (but that's just how I play). I think that better players than myself are able to extract more value from big pocket pairs on favorable flops than I do, and so I am open to suggestions of how that might be done.
But while we're on the topic, how much do you bet on this flop? How do you respond to a big reraise? |

Why not raise the river bet?

The reason I didnt bet the flop or reraise the river is that I'm unlikely to get called unless I'm beat, and, as for the flop, I'm not really worried about free cards. I'll probably collect more from bluffs/him thinking he has the best hand than betting out.

I disagree with the not getting called unless you are beat on the river. I think if you raised, he would have called you.
