Default Re: Play from the blinds

It's not all that complex. If your hand does not hold some potential for flopping a concealed monster, fold.

Pairs obviously hold this potential

Suited connectors do.

Unsuited connectors usually do.

Suited cards often do (tho the 9-2 type are O.K. to fold).

Ace/rag unsuited typically don't - although you're going to have to learn to play this hand if you want to win more than a minimal amount (especially if the game is 7 or 8 handed)

Trash does not have this potential; 8-3/off will flop the occasional FH and the even more occasional quads, but neither of these are "concealed" monsters - and neither will show more than once in a blue moon. (Ditto for flopping trips to trash; you win a little when you win but get crushed when you lose)

Blind play IS important but it is NOT rocket science; your bad position on future betting rounds will far overcompensate for the small discount you're receiving.

This is doubly true for 3-6 where the SB is only 1/3 of a bet.
