I was villian that hand and agree with all of the above. I was thinking after that hand that it probably wouldn't have occurred to me to bet/fold that river in your place, but I think it's absolutely the correct thing to do because:
-I'm probably not raising anything you beat
-I would usually check behind with AQ/AJs but I'm certainly not folding either to your bet
-I may or may not raise with an overpair if you bet but I'm definitely betting if you check
