I was in this exact same situation a few months ago. Unfortunatley I didn't have a condom with me and we were at her place. If you have a condom, for god's sake do it, especially if she's a 9. I'm not that crazy about doin chicks on their period, but my roomie swears by it. He claims thats when chicks are the horniest, scientifically.
*funny story too with this. We were makin out out in my buddy's apartment complex parking lot. Out in the open, I had her top off, pants down, pressed up against a car....good stuff. Somethin about public places makes it hotter. So anyways, I started to go down on her out there, and thats when I find out she's having a 'heavy flow' day. And my dumb ass didn't get a condom before leaving....
