That's about all I think you can do here with a marginal hand out of position.
The only other possibility would be to just call the flop and try C/R the turn IF a good card like the 5d comes.
This approach may be good b/c with this board you KNOW he's going to call your raise. He doesn't fear this board has given you a hand yet. What can you represent besides a draw or trips? Jacks or better would've been 3 bet Pre-Flop.
But if you call on the flop and then something like the 5d comes on the turn and he is facing a C/R on the expensive street with one more card to come it is much more difficult for him.
The only danger is that he will check the turn and take a free card (which is likely) but hey that's playing a marginal hand out of position. If he did check the turn and bet the river when a paint fell you still would lose 1.5 BB less than you did, but I don't know if it's really worth losing control of the hand.
