You knew you wanted to isolate 1 or 2 players of the 7 players already in the pot when it got back to you. In this case you'll need to raise more than normal. $100 (pot $105) would have been a bit better. You are would be happy taking the antes at this point, so bet a bit bigger to get more folks out.
Your callers will have real hands though, so in early position you must decide before you raise what you will do if you get callers and miss the flop. Which is what happened here. If you planned to check/fold if you missed against 2+ callers, then you were affectively betting 1+:1 that you would hit the flop. Not good odds.
Your lay down was warranted after he bet. However, you could have easily got to that same result t75 cheaper by checking the BB. If you hit the flop, you will still get the t105 and whatever else you can make of it.
