If they are, take it to someone who specializes in data retrieval. It may be possible to get your data back, but odds are this will cost several hundred dollars.

how does it only take a second to completely erase everything?? or do you just mean make it difficult to retrieve?
yea my backup for my 160 gig was on the 400 gig which was in the same computer [img]/images/graemlins/frown.gif[/img] i didnt know harddrive problems were contagious
