You should have bet the pot on the flop. with the Q-T someone could have been on a straight draw---by giving him a free card he could have beat you. by betting the pot--he is getting 2-1 pot odds on his call where its a little less than 5-1 to get the straight. In the long run he will be making a mistake calling.
