I think you need to read some recent literature on WEP security such as this one
http://securityfocus.com/infocus/1814 . The time to crack WEP has dropped dramatically in the last couple of years to minutes or even seconds. All you need to do is capture sufficient traffic, 500k-1m packets, and this doesn't take as long as you may think. The tools out there now are quite amazing.

10 minutes is a huge understatement of the time required. You need to capture enough flawed packets to deduce the RC4 cipher that is used. This can often require the analysis of millions of packets and can take hours if not days. Only under very rare conditions can this layer of security be compromised in minutes.
