i'm paying $150/month for full coverage (20% copay) and basic dental. i could go down to $100/month if i went to a lower plan w/$300 deductible (then 30% copay) and no dental.

Pardon me for being a health insurance nit but if it's a percentage it isn't a copay it's a coinsurance. A copay is going to be the same every time, like $10 per doctor visit or $50 for the ER or $250 to insert a penis pump.

A coinsurance is going to be a percentage of the total charge (or more accurately the reduced rate negotiated by the insurnace company). The insurance company pays 80%, you pay 20% or something like that. And, of course, this is after the deductible.

I"m seriously thinking about getting this, thanks for the information (My health insurance just expired December 5th when I turned 25). Here's my only question. I'm looking at a plan that says it has a $2,500 deductible, and then co-insurance of 50% after deductible. However, then it also says it has an "Out of Pocket Limit" of $2,500. This seems to contradict the co-insurance part. Obviously, I wouldnt' want to be liable for 50 percent of a 100k bill. I only need Health insurance for catastrophic illness, otherwise I get doctors visits through my law schools health center. Input would be appreciated.
