What does M have to do with anything?

Quite a bit. Considering everyone is already in the Orange zone at the first level of blinds.

I think the situation I presented is the most likely. You aren't likely to see four overcards, because you would not see all-ins from a KQ or KJ here.

Each opponent has a 6% chance to be holding a pocket pair. Full table you're ~50% to see another ppair out with you. 60% of those pairs are lower than yours.. Finding two high cards both to the ace is so much more probable.

Yes they've probably got good hands, and yes you may be beat. But let me emphasize that at this blind level a 3xBB raise is going to be dedicating more than a third of your chips to the pot. This tournament is going for less than thirty hands. Pocket Tens is a blessing. If you are waiting for anything better in the next ten minutes (and remember, you will likely have to commit to the pot with a raise of at least 50% of your stack PREFLOP,) you are not going to find a more solid opportunity.

When you have Ax and you are going all in with your last 700 after a few times around the BB, and you end up knocked out by a pair of 2s, those pocket tens will seem like a pretty sweet missed deal.
