Fun with the Table Captain (N/C)
Played a live $300 event yesterday.
Played well, but made 2 mistakes, the 2nd one was horrible and cost me my stack. Out 18th, top 14 pay. (132 runners)
Anyhow, early in the tourney, 2 to my right is the quintessential Table Captain. He's telling everyone how to play, how much to raise, what they are holding etc...
One hand he raises in MP to 3XBB, I smooth call with KK, all else fold.
Flop comes J,T,6 2 diamonds.
He leads out with 3BB's, as soon as I annouce raise, he automucks AA face up!!
He then says to the table "see, I have the ability to lay this down when I know I'm beat, that's why I do well in tournaments"
He looks at me, and says "a set of Tens or Jacks?'
I said "Jacks"
He says "I knew you had it"
1 level later he gets into a blind vs. blind hand when he's in the small blind.
He raises to 3xBB, BB calls, flop come QQ3 rainbow.
Capt. bets 3xBB, BB calls.
Turn is an A
Capt bets 2/3 pot, BB calls.
River 2
Capt goes all in, BB insta calls with Qx
Capt shows A2.
As he gathers up his stuff he says, "I reallly thought you didn't have it".
I love these guys.
