I tend to think that it's better to raise the flop than wait for the turn as well. What range of hands is villian leading both the flop and the turn that hero beats? I guess I can contrive a few, though supposing this (in the form of UI overs) is IMO a tad optimistic.
The point: there are many times when BB won't bet out on the turn, but when he does yr equity is very likely not to have gone up. That is why I like raising the flop here.
