I personally would prefer a casino on the west side of manhattan than a sports stadium. But I think the police should turn a blind eye to poker playing in these clubs. Similarly, I think police should turn a blind eye to marijuana use/possession, and I think they do to some extent. I think there are a lot of police officers that don't want to bother arresting someone smoking pot on the street, and I'm sure they feel the same way about poker clubs. I know someone who lost $17K because of the raids, and that is a shame. The "broken windows" theory I don't think works when persecuting innocent crimes.
