Default SLC - Update 2

SNG Ladder Challenge - Intro

SLC - Update 1

Ouch. Getting so close to my $1,000 goal before the Crash & Burn made this return to the mean extra painful.

At the $100 level & needing a win to get to $972, I managed to get HU with about 60% of the chips, but got badly outplayed. Unfortunately, although that 2nd left me with a healthy $772 SLC balance, a trend of overly LAGgy early play and 3 poor bubble plays led to some unneccessary exits and 2 rungs down to the $30 level.

This has defnitely been fun & educational for me though, if a bit frustrating.

A couple of obvious lessons learned 1st hand:

No surprise, but there are clearly fewer LAGs self-destructing and/or donating chips on draws in most of the $50s and $100s (as compared to $10-$30s). So inthe $50+ SNGs I've been fairly consistently a short-ish to medium stack by the time we're 4 5, or 6-handed, often at the $50-$100 or even the $100-$200 or $150$-$130 levels. Couple that with drastically improved bubble play from opponents (better than mine I'm fairly sure) & this has been a tough stretch.

Shocker- it's less fun to finish OTM in 7 SNGs in a row than finishing 1st in 4 of 6.

On an encouraging note, my very small sample of short-term results in the $10s-$30s have been solid, and the auto-drop down the ladder when I go below 5 buy-ins is keeping this experiment alive & kicking. A pre-determined structure is a nice anti-tilt measure- I tend to go UP in limits when I lose, so the SLC disarms my own self-destruction device.
