This kind of question has been asked frequently. The short handed is an Internet innovation, since they don't have to allocate physical tables and dealers.
SS2, Stud/8 and O/8 for Advanced Players, and some other decent O/8 books should do. They proabably have some material on short handed. Plus they discuss tight games between strong players, which are somewhat similar to short handed with 2 or 3-way pots.
