Then he made a fairly dumb open-limp from the button. As others have pointed out, any straight flush draw on the flop wins on the end. He probably did have T9d or so, and was thinking 2 OCs + flush draw value. When eugene checks the river, he obviously hates it. I thought he had busted draw at that point, and in Hellmuth's spot I would've fired one more shell in case he did; you'd have to ask eugene, but as tightly as Phil plays HU, I could see eugene laying down in this spot, even though it's just one more bet in a big pot.
