The first one is tough. I'll leave that to someone else.
I'd probably push the second one (although it's close, and I can see why someone would fold). It's tough cuz there's a flush draw, a straight possibility, a possibility that the original raiser (or someone else for that matter) has an overpair to your 9s, and 2 pair if someone played 87s or something. However, I think that you get shown A8 (or some other crap) too often to fold this.
