Tough hand. You just need to go with your read at that point. You had the whole thing read perfectly, with great odds to call, but then you switched from playing the player to staring at your cards and making a decision based on their value alone.

Unless he did something way out of character, the only hand that beats you is if he stumbled into trips on the river.

FWIW, I would check/call the river. You should plan based on your read to induce a bluff, plus you would rather keep the pot a bit smaller with only two pair. But you should call no matter what. A smaller value bet there is also a possibility. But your pot sized bet is useless - he can't call it with anything you beat. Either make a bet he can call with a lesser hand or ask him to bluff you over the top.
