Default Quick Tahoe Trip Report

Thought I'd post this in case anyone is wondering about the games in North Shore. I don't think I've seen anything on 2+2 about it. Not a very exciting report but here goes

My wife and I got together with a couple friends of ours and we headed off to Tahoe for the weekend. We were staying in North Shore so it was a drive to get to any good cardrooms (namely Harvey's). We decided to check out the casinos at North Shore, hoping there would be a cardroom in one of them.

Luckily there was. The Golden Nugget has a "card room". I use the term loosely because it was two poker tables surrounded by slot machines and a bar. My friend and I got there around 11pm on Saturday night and both tables were full playing 2-6 spread limit. You could bet anywhere from 2-6 on any street and a raise PF would make it 8 to go. Not that bad of a format... My friend and I got our names on the list and we were told that we were behind two people. About an hour later we were seated. The game was filled with about 60% locals and 40% tourists and the competition was fairly soft. Ended up making about $35 which just about covered what I spent on video poker waiting for a seat at the table

Also, we hit up Harvey's on Saturday. Definitely the place to play some poker when you're in Tahoe. Got there around 12pm and there were around 6 tables going. Had to wait about an hour for a seat and it was worth it. The play was pretty loose/passive and after someone hit the bad beat jackpot on my table (quad 8s were rivered by a straight flush) I was up about $150.

Overall it was another fun trip to Tahoe. We'll probably be going back in a couple months and staying in South Shore so we can get some more poker playing in.
