Default Re: If 2 pair is good 3 pair is better?

I put in the third raise preflop, perhaps I should have made it a bit more (25?) but I was trying to get him to put his chips in the pot for me, because if he has something like JJ I don't think he calls a large bet or a push. The flop didn't bother me his $1 bet made me pretty sure he didn't have a 9 with the preflop action.

Looking at the hand more, I think I should have bet the pot on the flop? I think my reasoning was that I wanted to make sure he came along for the ride because I felt I had the best hand in that situation and he was likely to have either 2 or 3 outs, 8 if he likes to gamble preflop, which I hadn't seen in my time at the table.

I've been thinking about this hand for quite a while now and I'm unsure if I took the best line on the hand. I put him on KK-JJ, AK or possibly a lower pocket pair. I can't see him playing much else in that situation with the preflop action because of stack sizes. He's got the implied odds to call with any pair if he thinks I'll overplay mine. I'm only behind 88 or 99 on this flop and I'm 99.5% sure he doesn't have 99.
