This isn't even dumb if you play with a bunch of asses who win one big pot and then leave. I don't see where this is a bad thing at all.

No, and in fact, this is a pretty standard rule at a lot of home games, I think, including ones I play in. It's a good defense against the hit and run, and a simple courtesy to everyone else at the game. At a casino or online you can get away with this, but a friendly home game there's just no need.

I totally agree. At my games, I have a "can not cash out until you played at least 4 hours" rule to prevent the hit and run. Even then, my players state they will leave at a certain time.
