There was this huge article I read last year in Incest Weekly, uh, I mean some science magazine that countered the claims that up to now were thought to be correct.
Basically it said that the chances of deformity, etc were the same for 1st cousins as it was for woman over 40 who have children. Anyway, I halfheartedly tried finding the article online and couldnt, whatever.
I do know for a fact that continued inbreeding with cousins over several generations WILL cause deformity. Hence, in places like Appalachia where people all live in the same town and never leave. Isolated incidents of cousin impregnating are different and cant be lumped in with cases where there could be inbreeding going back generations.
