I wish I had your faith in OOT, diebitter.

If you have not done so already, describe your objections to the artistic value of Unforgiven, being concise yet thorough. I respect your judgments in these matters, but enjoying the film as I do, I would like to hear a counterargument.

BTW: G,B,U in a walk.

Unforgiven is a marvellously layered film, with subtle performances, and interesting and startling script with many flashes of inspiration and honesty that make you feel both entertained and enlightened about man's inhumanity - and humanity - to man. A great film in many, many ways

TGTGATU: Magnificent, operatic, epic music, cinematography and action. The backdrop is a war, and the three fantastic, superhuman characters - warriors - stride through it like you or I would wander a summer orchard, building to a crescendo unmatched in all of cinema.

To summarise:

Unforgiven: wow!
TGTBATU: WOW!
