Default Re: Does anyone here actually beat PP .5/1 consistently for alot???

Q) Can people beat .5/1?
A) yes! I'm not a pro by any means, I've only been playing 6 months. After 30k hands at .5/1 I am 2.3BB/100. That's nothing special, but my last 15K hands (after I actually studied a bit, posted hands here, and devoured and studied SSH and TOP), I've been closer to 3.5BB/100.

I finally moved up to 1/2, and only have 5K hands. In general, the players are tighter and more aggressive, with fewer calling stations, which is what makes .5/1 so profitable. I've been lucky, and running well, and am at 2.8BB/100 at 1/2. But the game is tougher; smaller pots, better starting hands (in general), and not as many passive players.

At .5/1, be a nut peddler, jam your strong hands, don't try too hard to protect your mediocre hands in multi-handed pots; everyone will call down, which is a good thing if you adapt your play. And you'll find .5/1 is the easiest game there is.

Francis
