guys, thanks for the responses. i sort of thought the whole thing was wrong... although eventually i'd ask him if he was going to raise before i bet (thislater, when he wasn't raising every hand; and it was probably wrong too)

i apologize. i half-knew that it should have been in bricks and mortar (although rules/ethics would be better, doesn't exist though). but i thought i'd get a better response here.
