Default Re: HU Hands from PCA Double Shootout ($175) Win

1a) I got the sense that callmewonder was getting tired of my constant raising on the button and decided that he was going to try it too. He had raised min on the button probably two of the previous three times so I decided a reraise was in order. After I reraise, I think I need to call the all-in with a 1/3rd of my chips already in the pot. I called, he had A7, and I hit a K on the flop.

1b) I called. The river was a blank and it went check/check and I took down the pot (he had 0). I was just wondering how to maximize my gain on that hand without risking too many chips in a small pot with a marginal hand.

1c) I'm pretty sure I made an awful play here but I got good advice from a well respected player that I should not put VP$IP then fold in shootouts. I know it doesn't apply HU but I was looking for an excuse to play. The huge reraise was really strange and I immediately thought Ax or low pair. I was raising almost every hand on the button and there's no way he's coming back over the top that big with a hand that has me crushed (except KQ and maybe AJ). Low pair made the most sense to me because I think he's more likely to reraise with a low pair than Ax. I thought for a long time then reraised all-in. He (obviously) called with 33 and I won the race.

It's great to know that arbianight plays super good. We got to heads up with nearly identical stacks (6790 him 6710 me) and I never dipped below 6000. I just grinded him down then got lucky when blinds moved to 200/400 and he pushed his remaining 2200 in with A7 and I woke up with 1010.

2a) I decided to keep the pot small and checked. I was obviously worried of giving a free card to diamonds but decided to do it anyways. The river was the perfect card A. He bet out 1000 and I minraised to 2000. He folded immediately.

2b) I bet 400 on the turn which was called and 900 on the river which was once again called. arbianight had A6. I probably could've got a bit more out of him on the river and was just wondering what type of bet sizes are good in these situations. We both played the hand well overall I think.
