jv, I'm glad that you contributed after the thread had been buried. The river cr idea at first kind of shocked me because, frankly, it never entered my mind, during or even after the hand, and I couldn't decide if it was expert or pure and simple dusting of chips. . . You can prob vouch for the fact that he is not folding anything here, esp given the range of hands he would put me an after my preflop coldcall.

You cold called 3-bets pre-flop, c/r the flop, bet the turn.

You have decided to represent a big pair JJ or QQ, possibly KK or AA if you slowplay it that way too. Your opponents also think you have a monster and have been put on defensive mode. You have played decided on your game plan which is to play like a big overpair. That is all great.

So on the river, you must continue with your plan. Your check is correct IMHO, so follow through with a river c/r to continue representing that big overpair. If you get called so be it. Good for them and good for you for playing your hand the way you believed it was played based on what you hoped your opponents would put you on.

I have yet to see a good opponent not even hesitate to think for a moment and consider folding when facing a check-raise on that river against an aggressor who has possibly snared a river trap.
