Default Re: Standard Play?

I think the check - pot raise is yelling to these players " I HAVE THE NUT FLUSH".

Both of their stacks are deep, so I think you could have milked them for more.

What are the types of hands they are likely playing here? Since you have 2 nines, including the 9 of spades, you know a straight flush draw is out. You also with the 9s and 8 take away some cards that would give them a wrap.

While I know the straight doesn't mean anything, the people are likely to play hands like JJ98. But you holding the 9s and 8s make their full house less likely.

Also - their full house is less likely because they are probably holding each others outs. Maybe they both have JT, or one has JJ and the other has 77. Some something along these lines.

Combined with that they are betting on if they are smart players, and what you are holding, I think you could have waitied to the turn to push hard.

Your raise was ~ $40. That's a lot to call when at best your hand is 2nd best (K high flush).
