Default Re: Do good players usually fold here?

not as easy as it appears. short of a bluff, what 2 cards is he limp/raise-calling PF...that fit this board?

two pair? HIGHLY unlikely.
TPTK? very possibly (A8s/os).
an overpair? very possible.
a set? very possible.

the scary part of this flop: he minraised back.

now we could be giving villian far too much credit, but if he has you raising with 'high cards', i don't see him teasing you here on the flop w/TPTK. villian is raising t500 of his last t710 chips. an all-in push is MUCH more likely.

but if he had a set, why not cold-call, letting you lead again on the turn? i suspect it might have something to do w/ your overbet on the flop..he's guessing he can get all the chips in here.

do you fold? i think you should, but i can't fairly say i would have

ps. your flop bet was waaaaay too big. this is just about a perfect flop for you. a rag ace holder has a three outer on the turn. charge him for it, but get more of his chips. i'd lead out 150-180 here.

edit: um, 1st hand here....didn't even notice the second hand
