Default Inconsistency in Harrington\'s book?

HOH2. Page 162, he states that most pros would suggest folding under this scenario:

8 handed table, M of 5, folded to you in 3rd position, you hold AJo. Players behind you have been tight. One desperate stack behind you.

Then, on the very next page, he launches a long structured hand analysis justifying pushing with T8o with an M of 8 after 4 folds on a 9- handed table.

I would push every time in scenario #1, which seems vastly superior to scenario #2.

I find this strange. Should I assume that Harrington is using this example to show that the 'common wisdom' is wrong in folding the AJ, i.e. if we 'did the math' like in example two, it's a clear push also?

Anyone fold the AJ here?
