Default Re: Badugi not allowed in vegas - why??

[ QUOTE ]
Apparently the Las Vegas (Nevada?) Gaming commission has not approved the game. It has been under review before but for some reason didn't pass. That's what they told me at the Bellagio. Poeple have been playing it all this month at the Rio, but they'd let us play 1-card fifth-tuple draw roll your own indian poker if we tuaght the dealers how to deal it.

How will the Rio not spread Badugi but will spread it if it's not called Badugi? I'd figure the regs say you can play this set of games, not "you can play this set of games plus any game the players want as long as it's not called x, y, or z".

I don't see how they'd risk sanctions doing something not approved by the board....however they're obviously doing it, so what gives?
