Other people may disagree, but in 3 trips to vegas in the last year I have always gotten the best hotel rates and airfares at the airline's or hotel's website, not at places like orbitz, etc.
Also check out San Remo, ($36 weekday, $77 weekend) it's close to many good poker rooms.
Lastly, Mandalay poker rate is $115/175 weekend as reported by Terrapin.

After one stay, I'd recommend San Remo too... great location, cheap rates, and respectable rooms. They're currently doing renovations, but it shouldn't be a big deal. For those playing the MGM, this is a "must-consider" since its right across the street.
