I'm not so sure. The river check/call is a pretty standard tool of the decent player, which villian appears to be. I think I read something in Ciaffone's book ("Improve your Poker") about "the bet that can not be right": if all you can beat is a busted draw, betting on the river is incorrect, but check/calling can be correct. Were I the villain, depending on my read of you, I would call here even with Ace-high.

Granted, betting is the only way that we're winning the hand, so I suppose that it could have value. I'd have to have a read that villain was quite capable of folding in this spot before I'd try it, though.
