Default Re: HH Analysis. Help me learn how to use a big stack.

Wow, you know I bet you and I are like exact oppisites. LOL.
Thanks for the critique. I will respond and hopefully learn something.

[ QUOTE ]
In the new spirit of constructive criticism:

Dealt to Skooma [ Ac, Ah ]
ivey2000 folds.
fhadad calls (15)
Skooma calls (15)

Awful. UTG, maybe. Behind a limper?

[/ QUOTE ]

Ok this is something new I have just started. I have only been playing SnG again for about 40 days and the PVS seems to be really popular, at least at 109s. I am expirimenting with limping behind to reraise both for value and protection.

[ QUOTE ]

Dealt to Skooma [ Ah, 5s ]
** Dealing Flop ** : [ 9h, 4h, 6s ]
fhadad bets (15)
Skooma calls (15)

Are you here in order to have to call off more chips on the turn or something? What are you doing?

[/ QUOTE ]

I actually called 5 here. Getting like 100000:1 to hit my 2 pair or better. Fold because of domination?

[ QUOTE ]

Seat 2: Skooma (2880)
Dealt to Skooma [ Td, Qh ]
ivey2000 calls (30)
Skooma raises (120) to 120

And you proceed to do this. Do you know what you're going to do when you get there?

ivey2000 calls (90)
** Dealing Flop ** : [ Kh, Qs, 3d ]
ivey2000 bets (150)
Skooma calls (150)

Apparently not. What do you now put him on?

** Dealing Turn ** : [ Jh ]
ivey2000 checks.
Skooma checks.
** Dealing River ** : [ Kd ]
ivey2000 checks.
Skooma checks.

Okay, so he was bluffing, which is 100% obvious by the river. There are two reasons for not betting it: you're terrified, and your kicker is a split. You brought the second one on yourself, but at least it justifies the check somewhat. If you were just scared, it doesn't.

[/ QUOTE ]

This guy I put on a mid pair or KQ. I call to catch bluff from mid pair and check behind cause I only get called(raised) if I am wrong. I don't think this is a raising hand after this flop. This thinking is no good?

[ QUOTE ]

Dealt to Skooma [ 8c, 8h ]
shakkazullu calls (30)
Skooma calls (30)
object calls (15)
Lawyer44 raises (245) to 275
Skooma raises (3120) to 3150
Skooma is all-In.

I haven't been keeping track of the players to date and I don't remember playing with this guy, but if you had no read on him this is worse than not limping behind with AA PF, in other words, godawful. Are you counting on him remembering the first hand? Because he's still calling.

[/ QUOTE ]

Player read and isolation move.

[ QUOTE ]

Dealt to Skooma [ 3d, Kd ]
Skooma raises (150) to 150

Pop quiz: if you get called, the flop is A [img]/images/graemlins/diamond.gif[/img] K [img]/images/graemlins/spade.gif[/img] 8 [img]/images/graemlins/spade.gif[/img] and you get bet into, you...

[/ QUOTE ]

I fold, but I am weaktight.

[ QUOTE ]

Dealt to Skooma [ Qd, As ]
shakkazullu calls (50)
Skooma calls (25)
object checks.

Having thoroughly LAGged up your image and obtained a giant stack, you now don't even push, much less raise, here. Jebus.

[/ QUOTE ]

You are right, this is a mistake.

[ QUOTE ]

** Dealing Flop ** : [ Ah, 2d, 2s ]
Skooma checks.
object checks.
shakkazullu bets (150)
Skooma calls (150)
** Dealing Turn ** : [ Kd ]
Skooma bets (400)

The check/call's OK, but then you bet the turn when your kicker is counterfeited? At least *pretend* you want to let him bluff some more.

[/ QUOTE ]

I didn't think he would bluff again. Also, I bluff with this line (check call flop and lead turn) so I also play made hands like this sometimes. Bad idea?

[ QUOTE ]

Dealt to Skooma [ 3s, Ad ]
Skooma raises (300) to 300

This is a great way to let the short stack back in when he pushes and you're getting 3:1 to call him. Otherwise, I don't know what the purpose of this raise with these blinds is.

[/ QUOTE ]

So you mean push?

[ QUOTE ]

Dealt to Skooma [ 3h, 8h ]
fhadad calls (50)
Skooma checks.
** Dealing Flop ** : [ 7h, 2d, 2h ]
fhadad checks.
Skooma

bets this flop and it is not remotely close.

[/ QUOTE ]

Yep.

[ QUOTE ]

Dealt to Skooma [ Ah, Js ]
fhadad raises (300) to 300
Skooma folds.

Again, I haven't been keeping track of the players, but if you want to bully and think he is the least bit unwilling to call, now is the time.

[/ QUOTE ]

This was another read. I thought this guy would only raise AJ+,99+ here so I folded.

[ QUOTE ]

Dealt to Skooma [ Jc, Kd ]
shakkazullu raises (1130) to 1130
shakkazullu is all-In.
MadsE222 folds.
fhadad folds.
Skooma calls (930)

Given that he is pushing UTG, you don't even really want to bust him all that much, and how bad doubling him up is, I do not like this call. 1.5:1 may just barely be too good to fold. But I think I still do, although it's close.

[/ QUOTE ]

I think this is a big mistake I made.

Thanks again.
