the buy-in last year was $10k.

I believe the buy-in this year is either $14k or $15k. It's on their web-site.


Party players at the WSOP are staying at the MGM-Grand I think.
PokerStars players (that would include me) are staying at the Treasure Isl.


Anyway - party seems proud of the fact that they have the biggest limit tourney in the world. $1.5-mil for 1st and $1-mil for 2nd last year. They had 740 players at $10k apiece.

Party has gotten more and more players for this every year (and thus larger prize-pools and more profits for them every year).
But that isn't as much of an option anymore as there is only so much room on the boat.
thus, it looks like their next option to get more money out of it is to increase the EF...because they just wouldn't be able to accomodate a tourney with many more players than what they had last year imo.
