Default Bluffing the smog test

It's my birthday today (and where the hell is my cake? ) so I was down to the wire to get my car licensed in California.

I have been driving almost two years with the 'check engine' light on.

California smog check can't be done if this light is on.

Light can be easily turned off, by pulling the battery cable for a minute or two, resetting the computer, which I did.

Took it straight to the center (about two weeks ago), the car passed every single emissions test except the one where my car's computer told the state's computer: I have just been reset.

Guy tells me, drive it several cycles, bring it back in for a recheck.

Last Sunday night my wife comes in from errands, "Light's back on."

[censored]!

Pop cable again. Drive a few days. Take car in this morning, it passed!

As I was pulling out of the test station, the light came back on.

Happy Birthday to me, and F U California!
