when you are being attacked in your own home you cant always stop and make the most rational decision on how to proceed. you may end up doing just what this guy did and that was to finish off the attack once he had the upper hand. who knows if he stayed in the house the guy would come in with a gun and he may lose the battle. it is his house and why should he have to risk getting killed by waiting inside while someone that previously attacked him is in the garage.
