I always bring my books when I travel, but they never go near or get mentioned in the cardroom. My plan was to review some of the problems on the beach between swims. As to being seen by other players, most of em don't even know the beach is there or so it seems. I'm an ex marathon runner and I find myself amazed at the way the typical player is. They drink while playing, stay up for days at a time and won't even take themselves out of a game long enough to eat a decent meal outside the cardroom. I make sure I'm well rested, get some exercise and eat well so I'll be at my best. Booze at the table is out. The typical player has no concept of any of this. They run themselves into the ground and virtually guarantee they'll lose. Amazing.
