Default Re: so what if the poker world starts getting run by bots

I dont think it will. The vast majority of people playing are playing for fun, and watching a bot play isn't fun. The people who are playing to win might entertain the idea, but why risk it? If you are caught once, you lose everything. If you remain undetected, you earn the same rate that you would if you learned how to play yourself.

Also, I have no doubt that PartyPoker, which has billions of dollars relying on keeping popularity for online poker, wants to do everything they can to prevent bots (and consequently the public fear of bots) from creeping into their poker room.

But to answer your question, I would have no problem with a bot sitting at my 3/6 6max tables, constantly having to adapt from 3-handed to 6-handed, with different types of players. While making a bot play a full ring game at an acceptable level of skill may be feasable (still not as good as a human player), I have no doubt that short-handed play is going to be very bot-safe.
