It was probably the only way that tortured soul could relieve himself. Such a mad, great mind that will be sorely missed by many of us. Who knows, perhaps his doctor had recently told him he was dying from something... Unfortunately for me, I'll never get to meet him now. I've often daydreamed while in that bar in Aspen that has his Sherrif's campaign poster from 1970 over the bar (an election he only lost by some 500 votes). In the fantasy I'm sitting there drinking a beer and he strolls through the door looking for a case of oranges and five bottles of tequila.
