That's the same setup I have except I have the 128MB graphics card. The cost to upgrade is marginal, $50 I think, probably worth it.
I have the 9 cell as my primary battery. Lifetime is good for poker, probably around 4 hours though I never let it go dead so I'm not quite sure. For watching DVD's, I imagine it would be a bit less. The extra batteries are expensive and you can probably get one cheaper on the net or Ebay so you might want to try it out before deciding if you need one.
