Default Re: BJ BS insurance information question (x-post from prob. forum)

[ QUOTE ]
Even in games where the dealer doesn't check for blackjack first (this only happens in B&M) basic strategy still assumes no blackjack. The reason is that if he has blackjack, you can't win no matter what you do.

this is correct....as is homer (because they are pretty much saying the same thing).

you do NOT change B.S. at an online casino.
the only reason to depart from B.S. is based on card-counting and what cards you KNOW have been reomved from the deck.
i am fairly certain that most of these online casinos re-shuffle after each hand...so you are starting with a fresh deck each time....so you don't EVER change from B.S. (unless you actually WANT to play with a greater disadvatage then you have already).

you also can change a couple of plays just based on the specific rules of the game....but there are different B.S. strategies for different rules such as DAS, number of decks, etc...so you're not really changing B.S., you are just using the appopriate version of B.S. for the version of BJ that you are playing.
